New built-in encryption makes backup data more secure than ever.
Washington, D.C. - FOSE - Booth #1534 -- April 10, 2003 UltraBac Software today announced that its UltraBac 7 series backup and disaster recovery software won Government Computer News' (GCN) Best New Technology Award in the Security Software category at FOSE.
Judges from GCN and Washington Technology chose finalists from dozens of entries for each category based on innovation, features, relevance to the federal market and value. UltraBac Software was one of four finalists in the security software category. UltraBac Software's entry focused on new built-in encryption just released in UltraBac 7.0.3.

UltraBac's new built-in encryption functionality automatically secures the privacy of sensitive customer data BEFORE it is backed up across a network and onto whatever media type selected for backup. The data is encrypted by an agent on each machine being backed up using an encryption phrase of up to 127 characters enabling customers the power of a 1016 bit encryption key. Using a variable length encryption key allows users to vary the amount of protection needed to secure their data.
Pricing starts from US$495 per server with the ability to backup an unlimited number of workstations.
